After School Programs
The Parents' Club is sponsoring a Petrova After School Program for all students in 3rd to 5th grade. Beginning the week of November 26th, we will offer the programs listed below. If you would like to help out as a parent helper or if you would like to teach an after school activity, please contact Mr. Dann or Zoë Smith ([email protected]). Programs meet from 3:30-4:30 pm each week. There will be no programming on half days, December 5 and February 27. Transportation is not provided and we encourage you to pick your child up promptly at 4:30. Snacks are also not provided but your child is welcome to bring his or her own.
Basketball - Tuesdays
The basketball program is for grades 3 and 4 only at this time. We will start Tuesday, December 4 and end just before Spring Break, on March 19. It is open to both boys and girls and beginners are welcome. Coach LaDue will teach the basic fundamentals of the game.
Science Club – alternate Wednesdays
Mr. Baldwin’s popular after-school program is back on alternate Wednesdays for grades 3-5 in the Elementary School gym. The first science club meeting will be December 12 and will end March 13.
4-H Club - alternate Wednesdays
Patricia Banker, from Cornell Cooperative Extension, will offer a 4-H program on Wednesdays flip-flopping with Mr. Baldwin’s Science Club. The first meeting is November 28 and will alternate Wednesdays with the Science Club throughout the year until Spring Break. The last meeting date is March 20. 4-H meets in the Elementary Library and is a national youth organization that explores science, health, leadership, and community service. Read more about 4-H Club.
Handwork - Wednesdays
Learn beginner sewing skills and embrodiery skills from Stephanie DeJoseph on Wednesdays beginning December 12- January 23 in the Elementary Library.
Knitting- Wednesdays
Mrs. Walton will teach basic knitting skills every Wednesday beginning January 30-March 20.
French - Thursdays
Mr. Rezek offers the basics of the French language in the Elementary Library beginning December 6-March 21.
Lego Club - Thursdays
Mrs. Isabella is back again for the Lego-building enthusiasts. All the Legos you need are in Room 107, so please do not bring your own Legos. This fun club begins January 31 and meets every Thursday until Spring Break, March 21.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) - Thursdays
This new program is offered every Thursday from Mr. Merrihew in Room 123. Children will learn to work with wood, hand tools and understand skills to design and make things out of wood! Program starts December 6 and runs through January 24.
